Fee Structure Overview:

Our fees reflect the complexity of the case, the experience of the barrister, and the procedural steps involved. Factors influencing fees include:

  • Seniority and specialism of the barrister
  • Volume of documentation
  • Location and duration of hearings
  • Whether solicitors are involved or if it’s a direct access case

  • Junior Barristers and Client Support Staff: From £150 per hour, From £100 per hour
  • Senior Barristers: Up to £500 per hour
  • Average Rate: £200 to £250 per hour (plus VAT)

 

Fixed fees may be available for specific stages of work or entire hearings

  • Interim Orders Hearings: £750 to £2,200
  • Fitness to Practise Hearings (One Day): £900 to £2,200
  • Inquests (One Day): £1,200 to £2,000
  • General One Day Hearings: £900 to £3,500
  • Five Day Hearings: £2,500 to £10,000 (case dependent)
  • Regulatory Case Management Conferences: £350
  • Consultations: £500 to £2,500 (Average £750)
  • Written Submissions: From £500
  • Appeals to High Court: £7,000 to £15,000 (Average £12,000)

 

VAT at 20% is applicable.

  • Travel and Accommodation: Billed at cost where applicable.
  • Expert Witnesses: From £750 to £5,000 (depending on expertise and involvement).
  • Court Fees: Vary depending on the nature and value of claims.
  • We can collaborate with solicitors offering legal aid where applicable.
  • Insurance policies may cover legal fees. We can review policies upon request.

We provide initial ballpark estimates during a 45-minute consultation. For accurate quotes, relevant documents must be submitted for review. Fixed fees are often available for hearings and consultations.

A client care letter detailing fees and terms will be provided prior to undertaking work.

  • Complaints are handled in-house initially. Unresolved matters can be escalated to the Legal Ombudsman.
  • Regulated by the Bar Standards Board (BSB). All barristers carry professional indemnity insurance.
